I believe in on-time attendance also. Unfortunately, my VP didn't. He told a student of mine, "As long as you're here within 15 minutes, you're on time." My jaw dropped and I debated it, so he withdrew his statement.

That's awesome. These two examples illustrate the point that attendance is important quite well.
